Can you wear TWS earbuds in the shower?

Taking a shower with TWS earbuds is awkward for some people, but for several it’s quite common. However, if you wish to take a shower with your newly bought earbuds, then wait a little bit and read the article properly.

You must know that all earbuds are not waterproof and they don't have the exact same IPX rating. Therefore, it is really risky if you go for a shower with your earbuds that are not officially water-resistant (you may find this term in the user manual).

However, in this article, I will go through the topic of whether you can wear TWS earbuds in the shower or not. If it is safe, then what are the terms you should follow and maintain before taking a shower with your earbuds? Without any other delay, let’s get started!

Why do I wear earbuds in the shower?

Generally, normal users never ever try to do that. But some users like to bathe for a long time in their bathtub, and to enjoy that time, they wear earbuds and listen to music. Often, they enjoy music under the shower. At that time, using TWS earbuds is safe if the earbud is completely waterproof.

However, I will never suggest using any wired headphones in the shower. It’s quite risky, even if you can get an electric shock. Therefore, never do that. Besides entertainment purposes, people use earbuds while showering for various purposes, like;

  • To justify the performance of their new earbuds.
  • Attending serious online meetings or else
  • Talking on a needy call.
Actually, sometimes some sudden situations occur when a person can’t spare a single second from his/her earbuds and intentionally or unintentionally goes to the shower wearing earbuds. Many times, users wear earbuds during showers due to curiosity, for entertainment, or for other purposes. But is it really safe? What do you think?

Can you wear TWS earbuds in the shower?

As far as I know, many earbuds are made to be used underwater, and some are fully water-resistant. If you are using any of those TWS earbuds, you can wear them in the shower without any worries. Your earbuds are not going to be damaged, and there is no possibility of getting an electric shock.

But if your earbuds don't have a good IPX rating, then don’t try to bring them under water. Keep those earbuds away from the rain also. My personal suggestion is to use any earbuds from IPX6 to IPX8 ratings. But also remember to check the warranty criteria (so that you can get the replacement) if it does not apply to the shower head.
Tips: Always try to buy earbuds with official IPX8 certification if you are going to use them in the shower or under water on a daily basis.

How to choose the best earbuds for the shower

You must consider the IPX rating term while buying any TWS or Bluetooth earbuds. It is quite essential when you need to deal with water daily. However, in simple words, when you are thinking of buying an earbud for the shower, always give more importance to the IPX rating than the sound quality and other terms.

I personally suggest going for the IPX8 rating (that means continual water or under-water conditions can’t do any harm to your earbuds). Besides, your chosen brand should provide a secure guarantee of water-resistance on your selected earbud model.

Users have a lot of questions about some earbuds, like if they are waterproof or not. As I have answered, you can read them. There is a possibility that you can find your desired earbuds from these queries, or you may get knowledge about the earbuds that you are going to buy.
